Situated in the Castletown Golf Links Clubhouse, the attractive restaurant has much to offer, no matter the occasion.
The team welcomes you with a daily menu using only the freshest in-season, hand-chosen ingredients. From delicious homemade bakes with locally roasted coffee, to scrumptious salads and lunches all presented with a touch of uniqueness from the team.
Open 7 days a week, golfers and non-golfers alike are encouraged to wind down and enjoy camaraderie in this tranquil setting with breath-taking vistas of Derbyhaven Bay. Expansive views of the first fairway and the Irish Sea can be enjoyed from the panoramic windows, or in the summer months from the outside seating in the cool breeze on the wrap-around deck.
In the winter months, the magic of Salt & Swing transforms itself into a cosy venue with a fireplace and soft seating creating a warm ambiance. Beer, wines and generous servings will satisfy even the hungriest of golfers.
From Salt & Swing, walks can be enjoyed to St Michael’s Isle – Fort Island, a rocky island dating from the Mesolithic period. The island is home to two Manx National Heritage sites, St Michael’s Chapel, built in the early Medieval period and Derby Fort built during the reign of King Henry VIII to repel possible invaders.
The Raad ny Foillan (Way of the Gull) skirts right past Salt & Swing Clubhouse Café where a welcome refreshment or a hearty meal awaits hikers and walkers before continuing on the rugged coastal path past Hango Broogh, onto the Herring Tower and the Lighthouse on the tip of Langness. The gullies are teeming with seabirds, and seals, dolphins and basking sharks can also be spotted in these waters. Salt & Swing is uniquely located in an Area of Special Scientific Interest; a Bird Sanctuary and a Marine Reserve, offering many options for locals and visitors to this southern peninsula of the Isle of Man.
